• Two important things that make a business successful are profitability and the business owner's fulfillment. 

• Business Plans are a great starting point, but business owners need to realize that businesses morph over time and the goal of the business today may be different from the goal of the business next year. 

• In business planning, you need clarity in your mindset, of where you want to go with the business and understand how that relates to you.  

• Don't have your money in just one account. Separate your business accounts (Jennifer has 11!) and your personal accounts. 

• Be honest with yourself about your money situation. 

• Holding onto your money a little bit longer can really help you out in the long run. 

• Start with saving 1% in a separate account."
